Last year was Corrie's first year of Volleyball. I was so excited she wanted to play because I also played it when I was in school. I wasn't very good, but I did love the game. Last year she liked it so much so decided she wanted to continue to play. You can imagine our disappointment when we arrived here and found out the middle schools do not have sports in the schools. I did find a Volleyball league through the parks and recreation. I signed Corrie up and we ended up being totally surprised to find out volleyball is a HUGE thing around here. They even have a facility called the Volleyball house. She was put on a team that isn't the best team but I really like her coach. He is very positive and always always coaching and encouraging the girls. He appointed Corrie one of the setters. She does a pretty good job. She tends to want to bump the ball instead of set it but she is getting there. Her serves are amazing!!! She definitely wants to continue. She is having a lot of fun. The problem.... Since Volleyball is so big here they have Volleyball clubs for high schoolers. The High Schools have volleyball, but all the girls also belong to clubs. The clubs run from November to end of May. Most of the high school coaches prefer you belong to a club. Since Corrie will be in High school next year (GASP!!!) she needs to get into a club this year. All fine and dandy BUT the cost of being in a club is very very expensive. Also it would run during softball season and I don't want Corrie to have to choose between Volleyball and softball. So I am not really sure what we will end up doing.
