Ashlie's Marching Band

Marching band for Ashlie is pretty different from last year. Last year she was in a band with about 80 members. This year she is in a band with only about 30. She really enjoys this band though. Everyone is friends and they do a lot of activities together. She still enjoys marching with a bigger band, but I don't think she would give up the friendships she has made.
A couple of weeks ago was their first competition. They marched the best I have seen them march so far. There was only 2 bands in their division. They received first place in color guard, over all affect and visual. The ended up tieing with the other band for first place. They weren't too happy about that. This past Saturday they had a competition in Delaware. Jeff and I didn't go since we had a banquet for the firehouse (another blog for another day). Ashlie said they placed last in their division. They did improve their overall score from the previous week though so that is good. Their next competition is in a couple of weeks in Cumberland, Maryland. (15 miles outside Jeff's hometown). They will be competing against Jeff's old High School.
