Senior Night

Halloween Night was just crazy this year. For some strange awful reason the school decided to have the last home football game on Halloween night. That of course meant Senior Night and Ashlie's last Marching Band performance was on Halloween. So in a crazy whirlwind this is what happened on Halloween.

Jeff and I went to the football game. Austin stayed home (a whole other blog on this), Ashlie and Corrie performed at the football game and had to stay for the entire game. The babies??.... well a neighbor was just going to watch them while Jeff and I walked Ashlie for Senior Night. After that I hurried home to get them to bring them back to the game for the half time performance. When I got home the neighbor was having so much fun with them and Caitlynn was asleep so I went back to the game without them and stayed until after halftime and then came home to rescue the neighbor. Meanwhile the neighbor had taken them out for their very first Halloween. (Sigh!!)

So.. First of Senior Night... Senior Night was very emotional for both Ashlie and I. I didn't ask Corrie what it meant to her since she won't be marching with Ashlie any more. Ashlie's emotionalism (if that's a word) started early in the morning with other senior band members. Mine started as we were standing in line with her to walk her across the football field. This is it... This is my babies last year... This is the beginning of her last year of High School... My baby...This could possibly be the last year I get to see her march... Next year she might not even be living at home..... OK OK enough of that or I'll start crying again. As we walked and received the carnation I concentrated on keeping my steps in time with Ashlie. Cuz that is what marching band is about, and I am a marching band parent, and it helped me not think about what was really going on.

But we both made it through and Ashlie or Jeff had no idea what an emotional wreck I was on the inside. I kind of think the picture says it all though.
This one is better. At least I managed to put on some kind of a smile

I love you, Ashlie, and have a GREAT senior year despite what it is doing to me emotionally!!!!
