Apple Pies and Dumplings

As a fund Raiser for the kids Spring Band trip they made Apple Pies and Dumplings. I mean they really MADE Apple Pies and Dumplings. They started Friday right after school until about 11 that night making pies. There was a station making the dough, another cutting the apples, and another making the pies. Ashlie made pies all evening. But I think she had a little too much fun with the flour.
Corrie put the crumb topping on the pies.
And she did a fabulous job

Yummy!! These look good!!!

Saturday morning they were right back at it at 7am. They made more pies until about noon. I think the band made about 2,000 pies. At noon they switched over to Apple Dumplings. I never even knew what an Apple Dumpling was until Austin and I showed up around 3:00 to help. It really was a lot of fun. Austin ending up staying with the girls until about 8:30 that evening. They made over 800 dishes of Apple Dumplings.
Sunday was clean up day and the day everyone came to pick up their pies. All 3 kids worked again that day. Jeff and I ran over to West Virginia so I could help with a Pampered Chef Fundraiser show. I am not sure how long the kids stayed. But I can tell you this.... We couldn't wait to dive into the pies and dumplings we bought. They were very good!!!
