Bragging Rights

My kids are great. I have always known that and always will. So I am never surprised when they do something spectacular. I realized yesterday even though deep down they may know I love them and am very proud of them it means a whole lot more when I actually do something about it. Soooo.......in honor of my children I am officially bragging to the whole entire world (well everyone who reads this blog) how wonderful my children are doing in school.

Austin got straight A's for the time ever. Yes so needless to say his first quarter in High School has treated him well. What is even more wonderful is in Virginia an A is 94-100 unlike all the other schools the kids have been in where an A was 90-100. His favorite classes are Art and Basic Tech where they are learning to draft. Right now he wants to go into either graphic design, drafting or be a fire science engineer.

(Sorry I just couldn't resist posting this picture)

Corrie for all practical purposes also got straight A's. Well really she got a B in PE. Only because of a little misunderstanding. She is the best shape she has ever been in and even ran the mile 3 minutes faster than last year. That's an A in my book. Getting straight A's was great for Corrie since she was involved in marching band and volleyball which really took up quite a bit of her time. Way to go, Corrie!!!!! Right now she is looking into being a production analyst. At least that is what I think it is called. She wants to analyze consumer products and make suggestions on how they can be improved to meet our needs better.

Ashlie... Never a surprise when Ashlie gets straight A's. But she received something even more amazing than straight A's this semester. She was nominated for a National Scholarship. The school can only nominate one student and Ashlie was it. She has only been in this school for 9 weeks and look what she has already accomplished. She has taken a couple of leadership roles on this semester which she is loving. One is as Chief Editor of the school newspaper. She even went to a leadership seminar about an hour away for this. The other is Vice President of the FEA (Future Educators of America). She said she really is doing all the work though as the Advisor and President don't really do anything. They have some great ideas in the works. Of course she is still planning on going to college to be an elementary school teacher. She really wants to work with preschool to 2nd grade. Gloria, this is all because of you. She loves you and misses you dearly. She wants to work with kids so she can make a difference in their lives. (Honestly I think it is so they can make a difference in her life just like you did).

I am so proud of you guys. I hope you know how much I love you and how proud I am of you. You are wonderful young adults who will make a huge difference in this world. We are all Blessed to be among you.
