A Tribute to Austin and Dana

There was something different about Austin when he came home from Tennessee. I don't know if it was the fact I didn't get to see him or even talk to him for entire week, but to me he was different. I even asked everyone if his voice has changed. No one thinks so, but I do. He just seems more grown up. So needless to say I have been thinking a lot about him the last few days. He definitely has grown taller this year. And every now and then I get a glimpse of his dad out of the corner of my eye

I have always said Austin looks like his dad. So I went through all my pictures I have of the two trying to find pictures to show you how much they looked alike at the same ages. I couldn't find any really good examples. Either I didn't have a great picture of Dana or I didn't have a great picture of Austin at the same age. I also was mildly disappointed because now looking at the pictures maybe they don't look that much a like. I don't know you tell me.

Sorry about the pictures. When I added them they were side by side so you can get a good view of both of them. When I posted my blog it sort of put them side by side. Dana is always on the left and Austin is on the right.

Their hair is definitely the same. They both have the reseeding hairline. They also both have/had very course hair. After Austin goes swimming his hair automatically parts like this which alway reminds me of his dad.

I don't know. Maybe it is the white t-shirt. I never remember Dana wearing t-shirts so I must have starred at these pictures too much, but whenever Austin wears a white t-shirt I always get a glimpse of his dad.

When I was going through the pictures I found these two of them mad. Ok so maybe it is the mannerisms that are alike

I also liked these of both of them holding up their fish. Although Dana's is actually visible in the picture ( Sorry Austin)

I definitely know Austin has his dad's hands. I know this is a picture of Dana when he is older than what Austin is now but I really liked it because of his hands. I couldn't find any other pictures that really showed Dana's hands. Austin's hand is the one on the left. I took this picture sometime last year of Corrie, Ashlie and Austin's hands. It is my favorite picture. I also have pictures of their feet. I sure wish I had done this when they were little. I am on the right track so far with Caitlynn and Dalton. I already have pictures of their hands and feet.

A few years ago Austin was going through my scrapbooks and came across this picture. He said he didn't remember having this picture taken of him with his grandpa. I laughed and said that is your dad, you goof. So even Austin thinks he looks like his dad. I asked him one day how it feels to know what you are going to look like when you are older and I think his words where, "Freaky".

What I did notice is the older Austin gets the more he looks like his dad.

I really wanted to find a picture of Austin with this same look on his face because that is definitely an Austin look

I really wish I had a good picture of Austin looking down because this definitely looks like him. Ok technically I know I could because is now 14 but..... just go with it. Ok.

This is how I remember Dana. Dana died November 11, 1996 at the age of 32.
