A Day at the Zoo

Ashlie's friend from Idaho is here visiting so we decided to go to the Baltimore zoo. Of course now that we live in Virginia it was about 1 1/2 hour drive to get there. Just the perfect excuse to see our friends in Maryland though. (The ones in the zoo and the ones who live in Maryland).

We haven't been to this zoo before, but we have been to the National Zoo in Washington DC. At first I wasn't too impressed with the zoo. We first saw the polar bears.

It was neat to see them under the water like this. He was just sitting there with his head underwater. Every now and then he would lift his head up for air and then put it back under.

Next we saw the farm animals. I was laughing at all of us Idahoans going to the zoo in Maryland to see barnyard animals. The kids were able to pet the goats. Caitlynn liked all of the animals, but usually more from a distance. She was not too into touching any of them. I actually did get her to touch this goat.

Dalton loves the animals too and loves to pull their hair and would climb all over them if we would let him.

Next we saw the lions, elephants, giraffes and even a camel.

We missed seeing the monkey's though since the zoo was closing. It was a good day. I think everyone had fun. I still am not sure which zoo I like better though.
