The Lunch Lady

When I quit working one of the things I really wanted to do was be involved in my kids activities. Not just be a spectator. Last year I tried to get involved in Ashlie's marching band, but that didn't work out too well. The group was very snobbish and didn't like outsiders.

So I was thrilled when Corrie and Ashlie's band here called and needed help with band camp this past week. When I told Corrie and Ashlie I was going to be their lunch lady during band camp, Corrie's immediate response was ALL WEEK??? She quickly said she didn't mean it rude, but it was such a quick response I knew what she meant. Ashlie said when she heard I was going to be lunch lady she thought for school. She was relieved when I said just for band camp. I really do think my kids love me. :-)

So hair net in hand ( not really) I helped with the lunches every day this week from about 11:30 to 1:30. Austin got to stay home with the babies.(Corrie sneaked this picture of me.) Not my best side... my butt... but a picture of the lunch lady nonetheless.

lunches were very intersting. We were able to use the cafeteria so it was really nice. The people were great!! I really am going to enjoy being apart of this group this year.

I got a couple of sneak peaks of their performance. Not even to really know what the show looks like though. I do know the girls were exhausted this week. They had camp from 8-5 the last 7 days and during that time Corrie would leave for a couple of hours for volleyball practice. The girls really are loving being in band together. They have never been in the same band before. It is all they talk about now. Corrie is right in the middle in the green shirt. Ashlie is on the right in the very back in the white shirt .

Here Corrie is on the far left in the green and Ashlie is right in the middle in the very back in white.

I am not really sure what is going on here. All of a sudden everyone sat down and Ashlie was still standing. I am sure it will make sense to me when I see the actual show.

So we are officially off to the races with marching band and volleyball season now upon us.
