2 Babies... 2 Parties

With friends in Maryland and family in West Virginia Caitlynn and Dalton had two birthday parties. (Yes I would also have parties in every other state where we have friends and family.... If we were close enough)

Last Saturday morning we headed to Maryland to our friends house for the first of Caitlynn and Dalton's 1st Birthday parties. We planned the trip during the time they would normally take their naps. NORMALLY.... I guess now that they are 1 they are expressing some of their indepence by not listening to me so they did not take a nap on the drive there. Without a nap and the party planned for the afternoon we had very tired babies, but they hung in there pretty well. We decided to do cake first. Dalton delved right in.

Caitlynn just picked little tiny pieces.

Caitlnn kept wrinkling her nose and giving these smerkly little grins. She actually does this a lot.
and then she had issues with her Litte Princess Tiara

After cake and any hopes for any kind of nap we opened presents

They really didn't understand the opening of presents. I even thought they would try to tear some of the paper off the presents but they didn't. Corrie and I had to open all of the presents and try to get them involved. These babies are very blessed with our friends in Maryland. They received so many toys.

Later that evening we headed home so we could go to West Virginia the next day.

At the party in West Virginia, Dalton had issues with this hat. He flipped the elastic band on his face and ended up giving him a big welt on the side of his face.

He quickly recovered and dug right in.

Caitlynn was a lot more excited on this day about her cake than she was the day before. Notice the tongue hanging out.

We actually have her a spoon this time to see what she would do. She did pretty well.

Next came the presents. We already knew they weren't too excited in the opening of the presents so Corrie and Ashlie opened them. Again they were very spoiled. They each received a car from their grandparents. Caitlynn rode hers

While Dalton turned his upside down to figure out how it worked

We had a wonderful two days. I just can't believe they are 1. They are both crawling and cruising all over the place but not yet walking. Dalton is pretty laid back. Caitlynn is pretty demanding. If she doesn't get her way... Watch Out!!! She will let you know. If Dalton has a toy she always wants it. It used to be that Dalton could crawl faster than her so he could at least play with a toy for a few seconds. Now that is not the case at all. Whatever Dalton has she must have it.

Here are a few more pictures of the weekend.
