Decorations and the Tree

FINALLY!!! After 4 years we FINALLY have all of our Christmas decorations from Idaho. Jeff made a quick trip to Idaho in November to finally get all of our stuff out of storage. In that storage unit was boxes and boxes of christmas decorations. Austin and Eric put up the decorations. At one point they came in and said they were DONE. I said but there are lots more lights. They looked at me and said we are DONE! Hee Heee.

And of course I finally had all my houses. In I think 1994 I got my first village set. 3 houses, trees and people. Every year at Mervin's the day after Christmas they would have a 50% off sale so I would go get my house for the next year. I did that until we moved back East. I also have had some given to me. I think all in all I had about 15 houses to put up this year. I did have a tough time finding a place for them. (Opps not sure why I didn't take pictures of them all)

Since it had been 4 years since we had Christmas Decorations (I wouldn't buy any because I knew we had a whole storage unit full of them). I put every single last one up.

This was my favorite. A Symbol of my family. 6 stockings hung by the chimney with care. Also note Shelf elf. Shelf elf watches to see if you are being good or bad and reports back to Santa every single night. Ya... didn't work too well. :-)

This year was so difficult for me because I couldn't get all my children together in the same place at the same time. We didn't get the tree until later because I couldn't get them together to even go get the tree. That event ended up being just jumping the car and getting the first tree we see and getting back home. We didn't even decorate the tree until one week before Christmas because I couldn't get them together. So Austin, Kate (his girlfriend), Caitlynn, Dalton, and Eric decorated the tree

Caitlynn appointed Eric in charge of the star on top. The problem was there was not a branch on the top that was straight up and down. She pointed out to Eric every single time the star started to lean a little bit. It is important to Caitlynn that things are as they should be :-)

So Dalton kept crawling under the tree. I honestly was busy making cookies and wasn't paying too much attention to the tree activities.

After everything was done I finally found Dalton special Tree decorating. Apparently this one little limb on the bottom needs lots and lots of decorations.

Oh my gosh. I know I have a picture of the finished tree but I forgot to post it. Oh well. It was gorgeous with all of our special ornaments.
