When we moved to Maryland we continually heard people saying even the threat of snow around here the schools will close. I thought they were joking. This has been a very very mild winter here. In fact it has only snowed 2 times and the temperature has been between 30-50 degrees. Some days we have even gotten in the 60's. So I can't say for sure if that is the case or not but if last Friday is any indication the kids will be going to school until the middle of July to make up "snow" or should I say "rain" days.
Friday morning it was raining, not very hard, at 6am when I took Jeff to the train station. Upon returning home I heard on the radio station that there was a 2 hour delay for schools in the county. WHAT???? I went home and watched the local news. It was true in fact.
This picture was taken around noon when I finally picked myself off the floor from disbelief. There was a little bit of fog around this time but there definitely was not any fog at 6am. As you can see there were not any gusts of winds or a huge downpour. It was.... JUST RAINING!!!!

Ok.... now to give Maryland a little bit of credit. The temperature was right at 32 degrees. With the rain and the freezing temperatures it does create unsafe driving conditions because of black ice. With the amount of freeways around here it probably was best the kids stay home until the temperatures rise a little bit. WHATEVER!!!!!
