Let it snow!!

The best thing I liked about living in Idaho was the change of seasons. By the time each season came I was more than ready for it. This year was different. I missed spring because of the move. I missed summer because of the pregnancy. I almost missed fall because of the babies, but I did get to enjoy the colors although Jeff said they were not as vibrant because of the drought. I didn't think I was looking forward to winter until I woke up one day last week to snow on the ground. I was very surprised to find myself all giddy and ready to throw on snow gear and go play in it. The kids were all excited since all they have heard around here is even if there is a threat of snow the schools are closed. They didn't close the schools that day but they did go in 2 hours late. I think we ended up getting 3 inches that day. It was gone within a couple of days though.

Because we have so many trees here winter time looks pretty depressing. That is until there is snow on the branches. Here are pictures of our front and back yards. Yes, our backyard is a small forest.

By the way, I don't think I have every told you about the deer. It is not uncommon to see deer along the street even though we are technically in the city. The other morning when I was taking Jeff to the train station there was a deer just a few yards from our front door. We had thought there was deer around since Rusty goes crazy smelling everything when we let him out. Unfortunately this morning I didn't have my camera, but I will try to get a picture of one.
