I have three things to say about this project
1. Austin should be VERY VERY thankful it didn't snow this year and temperatures work ok enough to work on. Because he worked on this project about every weekend from the end of December to the end of February.
2. The Prayer Garden looks AWESOME!!!
3. I am so very very proud of Austin for the amount of time, effort, leadership, thought and compassion he put into this project over the 3 months action period.
This picture does not even come close to what the space looked like before all the work started. There was ALOT of branches, twiggs and trees that needed to be cleared out.
After the space was cleared they laid ground cover down, mulch, and then built a border around the walk way and the prayer garden. Austin had the benches donated but he built the cross. For an Eagle Scout project you must have all supplies donated to you. You can not spend a penny on the project. You must also coordinate volunteers to help with the project.
Since he worked on this project practically in the middle of winter he can't plant the plants and bushes he wants to. It is ok though. Those aren't required for him to finish the Eagle Scout.
I can't wait to see what this will look like in the Spring and Summer.
Austin finish his paper and had his board of review in March. He became an official Eagle Scout 1 1/2 weeks before he aged out. Now he just needs to plan his Court of Honor.
Yeah!!! Austin. I think this looks amazing. Nice job!!!
