Dalton's Glasses

For really as long as I can remember Dalton has always preferred to sit for close to the TV.  We would tell him to back up. He would and then pretty soon would be up close to it again.   I really truly honestly thought that is just where he preferred to sit.  Jeff on the other hand thought he had problems seeing the TV.  The thought would cross his mind but really not enough to take Dalton to the eye doctor.... until
In Oct we noticed he was turning his head to see the TV and only looking out one eye.  Even when we stayed at a hotel Dalton wanted to sit right on the edge of the bed and then turn his head to see the TV.  We of course immediately made him an appointment.

The eye doctor we took him to was about 45 minutes away, but well well worth it.  They thoroughly checked him out for any disease or issues.  Poor little guy was very tuckered out from the little adventure.

The diagnosis of course was he can't see. HARDLY AT ALL.  His vision is so bad the doctor can't even prescribe is full strength yet.  He wore his first set of glasses for about 3 months and then after he got used to that he had them adjusted again.  They are now at only half strength and will be that way for a year.

And the most exciting thing is since he has had his glasses he has not once sat down the floor to watch TV. He now sits on the couch and snuggles with us.  He is very very good about putting them on first thing in the morning and keeping them on. Course he literally can't see without them.  Jeff has feeling that he is having problems with deep perception so I think we will schedule a follow up and also take Caitlynn in JUST IN CASE.   As if you can't tell I have huge amounts of guilt of letting him go so long without seeing.  A mom's or DAD's gut instinct should NEVER be questioned.

This picture was his first pictures with his glasses.  Now yes it has been 6 months since he first got glasses and yes I could probably have found a better picture... but I like this one with the peanut butter on this face. That's my Dalton!!!
