Train Expo

Obviously I was a little excited to post about the water fun at lower bridge so this post is a little out of order too. After our trip to Georgia I was excited to go on other adventures. When I read about a train expo in Petersburg I knew that's were I wanted to go. Petersburg is only about an hour from our house and in a direction we have never been. I was really really excited but I have never road in a passenger train before. That is something I really want to do.
We get to the train expo and it was really really hot. We found it we had to pay to get into the expo. It was a little roped off area and it was like $12 per person to go in. CRAZY!!! So our decision was to go to the expo and not go on a train ride or just do the 1 hour train ride. We chose the expo.
They had a model train set up with all kinds of different towns and scenery. It actually was pretty cool. Not $12 per person worth cool, but cool none the less.

They had a thomas the train Caitlynn and Dalton could sit in and get their pictures, but you had to purchase the train hat. Can you say SUCKER!! :-)
We didn't even get a good picture of Caitlynn because she kept trying to figure out the train.

Next we went to see an area where we kept hearing train whistles. What it was was a bunch of train whistles set out and you could pull the chain and blow the whistle. It was EXTREMELY loud and now Caitlynn does not like trains. Ugh!!!
We packed a little bit of a lunch so we headed to the local park to eat. Austin worked at the boy scout camp all summer. He would come home on Saturday morning and go back on Sunday morning. So when we drug him out on his day off all he wanted to do was sleep..... every chance he got.

Caitlynn and Dalton played on the playground a little bit. It was pretty hot and all the equipment was metal so they couldn't play too much. We finally headed home after that.
It was a good day. It really was... Just probably something we wouldn't spend our money on again.
