4th of July

For the Apple Blossom Festival the end of April we went to see the fireworks. We actually found a spot on the lawn where they were being lit. BIG MISTAKE. The fireworks were one right after the other. It was like a finale the entire time. There was so much smoke and debris falling we couldn't stand it for more than 5 minutes. We quickly packed everything up and got out of there. This is one of the pictures from that night.

So needless to say Caitlynn and Dalton now do not like fireworks. So we were wondering how they would handle the 4th of July fireworks. I am thinking this picture says it all.
The 4th of July fireworks are so much better. They are usually set off at the park, but there is a school across the street where we usually watch them. They really are quite enjoyable. Ashlie got off work just intime to watch the fireworks with us.
Caitlynn even enjoyed some ice cream before the fireworks started
Austin of course tried to catch some zzz's while he could

We got back too late that night to play with sparklers but the next night we brought them out.
Dalton even liked playing with them until he picked up the wrong end of one that was on the ground. He burnt his finger just a little bit, but wouldn't have anything to do them after that.
Our neighbors saw us out so they brought over their package of fireworks. Jeff and the rest of the "boys" lit the fireworks while the rest of us watched and ewwwwed and ahhhhed.
Caitlynn however wanted nothing to do with the fireworks and watched them from inside the house.
