The Apple Blossom Festival is a HUGE event held here in Winchester. This was our first year seeing it and Jeff and I even volunteered. He helped with vendors downtown so was gone Thursday evening for several hours and then Friday and Saturday morning. My event was the Jazz Festival on Saturday night from about 6:30pm to 1am. The theme of the event was New Orleans Mardi Gras. It actually was pretty boring and I didn't have a very good time. But oh well. I did my part.
Friday morning Austin, Ashlie, the babies and me went to see the antique fire equipment. (Corrie had softball practice and Jeff was volunteering downtown). I loved this little fire truck. It was called Little Squirt
I don't know if we were suppose to but we let Caitlynn and Dalton sit on it
Then we found where they were giving away fire hats.
Friday night they had a Firefighters parade. The parade started at 5:00pm. We left at 7:30 and it was STILL going on. We heard it didn't get over with until 9pm. There were firetrucks from all over.

Corrie and Ashlie marched in the parade
And of course our Grand Marshall
Yes that is Erik Estrada from "Chips". Still looking good after 20 years!!!
Saturday day there was the Grand Feature Parade. This parade started at 1:00. We left at 3:30 and it was still going on. I am telling you this town knows how to have a parade. The parade was actually very good. It had a nice mix of everything. It was very boring but Caitlynn and Dalton just couldn't sit for that long. Well lets take that back. Dalton didn't sit at all because he got a ball and was back in the ally playing ball the entire. He is so extremely funny with balls. He can pick one out from anywhere. And it is really funny watching him try to find someone to play with. He doesn't care the person's size. He will walk right up to them and throw the ball at them.
Corrie and Ashlie marched in Saturday's parade too, but I didn't take any pictures or video. I wanted to actually watch the parade. I did take a picture of the elephants though. I wanted a picture of the confederates marching in the parade because you definitely don't see that in Idaho. but I couldn't get to the camera fast enough.
The elephants were from the Circus. I had planned us going to the circus on Sunday afternoon. But since Caitlynn and Dalton didn't really sit for the parades we didn't think they would sit for the circus. So Jeff stayed home with them while Corrie, Austin and I went to the circus. (Ashlie had to work). Unfortunately when we got there they were sold out. BOO!!! I really really wanted to go to the circus too.
On Saturday night Corrie, Ashlie and Austin went to the carnival. Ashlie and Austin like going together because neither of them like riding the rides. Corrie likes to ride the rides though, but can never get her siblings to join her. They all settled for playing games. Both Ashlie and Austin commented to me that they think the people working there take classes on how to get you to play the games, because they are GOOD!! I guess they each spent $15 dollars on just one game. Pretty funny!!!
Despite the rain and not really knowing what the event was all about we had a good time. We definitely will have things planned out better for next year.
