Corrie and Austin's birthday was on March 30, a Monday. The weekend before Corrie and Ashlie were in Myrtle Beach for a band trip. Austin was at a 2 night camp out with boy scouts. So of course I don't even think to ask them what they want for their birthday before that weekend. So now here I am all weekend long without the birthday kids and I have no idea what to get them. Everyone is home on Sunday night so I figure that was our best bet to go out for their birthday dinner. They chose Chili's. I was able to give Corrie just one of her presents. (a Johnny Cash CD and the Johnny Cash movie, "Walk the Line") She actually had already received another present from me a couple weeks prior. (Mary Kay makeup)
Monday is now upon us and I realize we can't even really have a birthday party because Corrie has a softball game. So after Corrie's game Corrie and I run to the store to buy a cake and get ice cream. We blow out the candles and Austin gets just one of his presents (50 cent pieces). Ok.... so I decide maybe this will be a birthday week.

The week rolls along and everyone is going every direction. Saturday we are all super busy but I really wanted to go get Corrie and Austin's other present. Around 5-6 we decide to head to Hagerstown which is about 45 minutes away. We went to Dick's sporting goods so Corrie and Austin could pick out their own bat. We were there for quite awhile. While we were there Caitlynn and Ashlie just wandered the store together. Dalton on the other hand was in ball heaven. He kept running from one type of ball to another. And of course he had to try them all out so he was constantly throwing them.

The week is now over but I have yet to get Austin another present. He wants camping gear. I feel horrible about their birthday this year. It wasn't about giving their presents at different times. It was about the celebration. I just feel we didn't even celebrate their birthday. They haven't really got to do anything. We even planned to go to DC one day for their birthday but that didn't happen becaused Austin had baseball and Ashlie had to work. This was also the first year they didn't do something with friends.
Maybe their birthday this year will be a month long celebration...... oh but now I have to start thinking about Ashlie's 18th birthday in a couple of weeks and her graduation... and then we have the babies 2nd birthday and then.... and then.... and then.... OH MY!!!!!
