A Full Day of Fun

Last Saturday was our last Saturday before the chaos really starts... Corrie and Austin just started softball/baseball....Ashlie just started a job where she has to work every Saturday... Caitlynn and Dalton are close to crawling... and Rusty is dying for Springtime so he can go play. Therefore, we decided to fill our day with fun.
Our first adventure was the National Aquarium in Baltimore. We have all been wanting to go forever, but it is way too expensive. I just came across this great deal where we can buy unlimited admission for a full year for less than the price of one visit. (it only works because we have so many people in our family). I thought this would be a great day to go. My thinking was it wouldn't be very busy on a Saturday in March. Boy I was wrong!!!! Because of the rain I think EVERYONE in BALTIMORE decided to go. The aquarium doesn't allow strollers but we were able to use these carriers the aquarium supplied. They were great.

I think Caitlynn and Dalton liked them. They were able to see all the fish
They both were able to fall asleep for a little bit.

As soon as we arrived we went to the Dolphin show. Although it was good it just doesn't compare to Sea World. So overall I gave it a thumbs down.

Then we headed to the frog display. It was pretty cool but way too many people to enjoy them too much.

yes these are actually frogs. They are called moss frogs.

The next place we wanted to go was see jellyfish and sharks. We looked all over. The place is layed out in the weirdest way. All what we kept finding were regular fish, coral and turtles. We did stumble across some sting rays and some reptiles.
After 3-4 hours of fighting with the crowd and not being successful in finding jellyfish or sharks we decided to take a break and get something to drink. Where we sat over looked the Inner Harbor and Fort McHenry (WARNING!!! Fort McHenry is a history site we will visit when it gets warmer. It will be soon because Corrie and Austin are learning about it now in school so it would be fun to see it while they are learning about it)
(view of Fort McHenry and some of Inner Harbor from the aquarium)

After our little break we just decided to leave. We were on the 3rd floor of the building and to get down we had to go down this walkway. You would never believe what was along the walkway. SHARKS!!!

We probably spent more time as we were leaving then we did in any other exhibit. No jelly fish though. :-( The aquarium was ok. We want to go back sometime when there aren't so many people. Maybe we would enjoy it more.

Our next fun adventure for the day was the Boys basketball game at Ashlie's school. Ashlie had to play in the pep band and this was the Regional Championship game.

The game actually was sold out and we were just able to in before they sold out. The game started off LOUD and never quit. Dalton hated the loud noise. Neither Caitlynn or Dalton slept much at the aquarium so despite the noise at the game they fell asleep. Caitlynn never has a pacifer. She actually plays with it more so I am not sure why she has it. I think she was crying and Corrie gave it to her to see if it would calm her down. From the looks of it I think it worked.

The games was pretty uneventful. We won. Which means they go to State. There was a huge fight on the floor after the game. It was between girls from the other team and our cheerleaders. We stayed behind with the band until we knew it was safe to go outside of the gym. I think every policeman from the county and state ended up at the school. Apparently the opposing team is known for their "aggressiveness".
It was fun to spend the day as a family..... Now let the Chaos begin!!!!
These pictures were taken during our little break.
