Our 10 hour drive

Ok this day wasn't one of my better days, but I'll blog about it anyway. Actually I think my family would say it was one of my typical days.

My Uncle and cousin from California was in Virginia for the Boy Scout Jamboree. I really really wanted to see them. We had planned this particular Sunday to see them. I mapquested where they were (about 3 hours from our house) So at 7am we headed out the door. The place where they were was where Lauren (Jeff's daughter) used to live. So she made plans to spend the weekend with friends and we would just bring her back with us after we visited my uncle. (She has been living with us since April)

Well, we get down to where the Jamboree is suppose to be and we can't find the place. We can't find signs or scouts or anything. Now 50,000+ scouts are at this place and we can't find it. I talk to my uncle and he says there are all kinds of signs when they came up through Bowling Green. Bowling Green? There isn't any Bowling Green around here. So we look at the map and find out I mapquested the wrong place. My uncle and cousin are now another 2 hours away. So we get Lauren and head on the road again. We finally meet up with them at 3 in the afternoon. We took a tour of the Jamboree (very impressive) and then went to dinner. It really was great to spend some time with them. I loved every minute of it. We took them back to the camp around 7:00

After saying our good byes we headed on the road. We actually are only 2 hours from our house. We headed south a little bit to get onto the freeway to head north. That little bit ended up being 10 miles. We finally get on the freeway which is jam packed. Yes welcome to DC. Jam Packed at 7:00 on Sunday. So we got off onto to side streets. One hour later we end up in EXACTLY the same spot we were earlier. We finally get home at like 10. So overall we were in the car for 10 hours to see my uncle and cousin who were only 2 hours away from us. Well worth it for me!!!
