Hurricanes..Cooking...Horse Races

What do Hurricanes, cooking and Horse Races have in common?

Absolutely nothing except they were all part of our lives on Saturday.

For everyone from the West (myself included) I don't think you have any idea how big a hurricane is. Hurricane Hannah hit the South Carolina-North Carolina border on Saturday as a tropical storm. Yes it was just a tropical storm but we still got a piece of it here in Virginia. In our area it just rained most of Friday night through Saturday afternoon. Enough to cause havac on everyone's outdoor plans. And because of the recent bash of hurricanes Jeff has had to put in 12+ hour days the last week.

My plans for Saturday weren't ruined though. My sister in law did a pampered Chef party at my house. We didn't have a very good turn out, but we had fun anyway.

That evening the four of us (Jeff, me, Jeff's brother(Greg) and his wife(LuAnn)) went to Charles Town. They have a casino and horse races. They only have slots but I managed to find a 5 cent slot. I put my $5 in and actually ended up getting up to $87 before I put it all back in other machines. it was close to 11 pm but the horse races where still going on outside. We saw a couple of races and then headed for home. We got home around midnight but I was absolutely exhausted. And Greg and LuAnn still had about an hour drive home.
